ALUMNI UNPLUGGED: HAPPY HOUR WITH STUDENTS AND ALUMNI

UNC Kenan-Flagler students: Connect with members of the Kenan-Flagler Alumni Council for an opportunity to speak with a group of accomplished alumni about their careers or other topics of interest in a casual virtual setting.

The event will be hosted by Scott Barfield, Lari Harding, Allen Lewis, and Sara Paisner, and is open to Kenan-Flagler students.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Scott Barfield

Scott has a broad range of experience in the origination and execution of M&A and capital markets transactions. He is Managing Director and Partner at BlueArc Mezzanine Partners. Prior to joining BlueArc in 2015, he served as Principal at H.I.G. WhiteHorse and Nancy Creek Capital. Scott has experience in equity and mezzanine principal investing in lower middle-market companies with intensive due diligence, operations, and Board experience. He began his career as Manager at Ernst & Young in the National Corporate Finance Group before transitioning to Director at Wachovia in Investment Banking and Debt Capital Markets.

Scott received his B.S. in Business Administration and Master of Accounting from Kenan-Flagler Business School where he serves as a member of the Alumni Council.

Lari Harding

Lari is the vice president of client development at Inmar Intelligence. She is responsible for sales enablement with a focus on the commercialization of products. In her 31 years of working at Inmar Intelligence, she has held leadership roles in media and promotions, health care and supply chain, with more than 15 years of her career spent developing health care solutions implemented by more than 50,000 pharmacies.

Lari earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she serves on the Alumni Council for the Kenan-Flagler School of Business. Lari also serves as the Chairwoman of the Novant Health Board of Trustees for the Greater Winston-Salem area. Both of her children are current UNC undergraduate students.

Allen Lewis

Allen is Managing Director, Real Estate Capital Markets, at Wells Fargo. Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2010, Allen served as Director of Finance at Insite Properties. He began his career in public accounting with Deloitte and BDO Seidman before joining Deutsche Bank as Vice President of Real Estate Structured Finance. Allen received his B.S. in Business Administration and Master of Accounting from Kenan-Flagler Business School where he serves as a member of the Alumni Council.

Dr. Sara Paisner

Sara is the President of Synoptic Products, a medical products distribution company based out of Durham, NC. Prior to purchasing Synoptic Products, she worked in various clinical research organizations such as Quintiles (now IQVIA), Worldwide Clinical Trials and Q2 Solutions, in marketing and sales roles.

Immediately following business school, Sara was the Director of Marketing at Portfolio Decisions (now Aucerna) where she led marketing strategy and tactical execution to grow the company in preparation for acquisition. She started her career as a researcher at GE Global Research and Lord Corporation developing materials for the electronic industry, some of which are likely in electronics you use today.

Sara is the author of articles in trade magazines, peer reviewed journals, websites and a marketing blog, along with 5 patents and a book chapter. She received her A.B. at Dartmouth College, her Chemistry Ph.D. at the University of California at Berkeley and her MBA as a Belk Fellow at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. For fun, Sara likes to sail, go backpacking, train in martial arts and, when she can find the time, travel. She speaks fluent Japanese and French.
